Inheritance case for an Israeli citizen
Our client, an Israeli citizen living abroad, inherited significant assets in Ukraine after her father’s passing: apartments in Kyiv, funds in bank accounts, and intellectual property rights.
All inheritance procedures were handled remotely by our law firm.
The challenge – compulsory share in inheritance
The complication was that the father’s wife was entitled to a compulsory share. This required complex negotiations, calculations, and agreements.
Court approval of the settlement
The state notary refused to divide the estate in the way agreed by our client and the father’s wife. Therefore, the issue had to be resolved in court.
In one of the busiest courts in Kyiv, we managed to obtain court approval of a settlement agreement.
Registration of property and access to funds
Following the court approval, we registered the apartments under the client’s name, ensured access to inherited bank funds, and resolved other legal matters related to the estate.
Result
The client was fully satisfied. All legal issues were resolved remotely through her trusted representative in Kyiv.
