On September 8, 2021, the Law "On Virtual Assets" was adopted.
The law legalizes virtual assets, especially cryptocurrency.
In particular, in Ukraine, it will be possible to pay with bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies. Cryptocurrencies will receive judicial protection.
It is possible to establish and operate crypto exchanges in Ukraine, as well as companies engaged in storage, administration, exchange and transfer of cryptocurrencies.
There is also a plan to reduce taxation by a separate law, in particular, to free cryptocurrency transactions from VAT and reduce income tax. But these are just plans.
The Law shall enter into force on the date of entry into force of the Law of Ukraine on Amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine on Peculiarities of Taxation of Transactions with Virtual Assets, but not earlier than the day of publication of this Law.
